We make fundraising fun!
FundRaffle combines the excitement of live professional sports with traditional 50/50 raffles to create Canada's first online sports raffle platform, dedicated to helping raise funds for important causes.
What is a sports raffle?
A sports raffle is like a traditional 50/50 raffle in that each ticket is randomly generated and the winning ticket wins the pot. A sports raffle is unique in that instead of drawing a winning ticket randomly, each ticket accumulates points over the course of one or more live sporting events. Whichever ticket has the most points at the end of the raffle is the winner.

Each ticket is randomly assigned 20 players. Each point that each player scores during the playoffs gives a ticket a point, and the ticket with the most points at the end of the playoffs wins the raffle.
Multi-Game Football
Golf
Each raffle consists of multiple games. For each game, each ticket gets randomly assigned one team per quarter. Each point scored gives a ticket a point, and the ticket with the most points after the last game is over wins the raffle.
Each ticket is randomly assigned 10 golfers for a tournament. Over the course of the tournament, the players' scores are added together, and the ticket with the lowest score at the end of the tournament wins the raffle.
Sports Raffle Regulation
Sports raffles (in the provinces that support them) are regulated by provincial law under a category that's often called Charitable Gaming. Under Charitable Gaming laws, specific groups are granted the right to apply for licenses to raise money for specific causes using various games of chance. Examples include 50/50 raffles, Chace the Ace, Bingo, etc. The groups that are permitted to apply for licenses include registered charities, non-profits, youth sports teams and organizations, and youth education groups.

FundRaffle sports raffles are random games of chance in the same way that a 50/50 raffle is, and are regulated under the same rules, regulations, terms, and conditions.

A potential FundRaffle client cannot run a sports raffle until their group or organization has applied for and received a valid raffle license from the regulator of the province within which they wish to run the raffle.

Sports Raffles vs. Sports Betting
Although sports raffles and sports betting are both based on live sporting events, that's where the similarities end.
RAFFLESBETTING
All sports raffle tickets are randomly generated.Sports bettors make their own selections.
All tickets in a sports raffle are guaranteed to be unique.Multiple sports bettors can make the same bets or the same combination of bets.
The raffle ticket purchaser has zero control over the randomly generated sporting events assigned to their ticket(s).Sports bettors have total control over their choices when making bets.
Sports raffles are never based on the winners or losers of sporting events. They are based on events that have nothing to do with winners or losers.Sports bets are almost always made based on the winners or losers of sporting events.
After the raffle winner receives their prize and the expenses are paid, the remainder goes to a charity, non-profit, youth sports group, or youth education group. If the sports bettor wins, the winnings go to the bettor. If the sports bettor loses, the wager goes to the gaming company.
